Medicaid Enrollment

Medicaid Enrollment Assistance is available on site through our Algonac and
New Haven Medical Centers’ Case Managers. Depending on your needs,
you may want to apply for one of these programs:
- Healthy Kids is a Medicaid health coverage program for low income children under 19 and pregnant women of any age. This program covers all prenatal care and hospital charges for pregnant women. Newborn infants can be enrolled in the Healthy Kids program at birth. Healthy Kids provides a comprehensive package of health care benefits including vision, dental, and mental health services. Healthy Kids eligibility is based on your income.
- MIChild is a low-cost health coverage program for low income uninsured children under the age of 19. MIChild has a higher income limit than Healthy Kids. There is a $10 per family monthly premium for MIChild. The $10 monthly premium is for all of the children in one family. Enrollees receive a comprehensive package of health care benefits including vision, dental, and mental health services.
- MOMS Program covers prenatal care for pregnant women. The goal of the MOMS program is to provide immediate health coverage for pregnant women. It provides outpatient prenatal coverage only. The MOMS program is available to provide immediate prenatal care while a Medicaid application is pending. Other women who may be eligible for MOMS include: Teens who, because of confidentiality concerns, choose not to apply for Medicaid, and Non-citizens who are only eligible for emergency services only. There are income guidelines for all persons except teens.
