All employees and patients of Downriver Community Services are encouraged to share concerns or problems about their care or safety with the Administrative Staff. The phone number for Administration is 586-270-8055 ext. 298. The receptionist will direct your call to the right person.

Any person who is not happy with the response provided by Administration may contact the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) at 1-800-994- 6610 or complaint@jcaho.org for help with their patient care or safety concerns. Answering Service

Algonac Location- For after-hours acute problems, call St. John River District Hospital (810-765-3555). The on-call provider will then return your call. If you cannot wait for the provider on call to answer, go directly to the emergency room.

New Haven Location - Call the New Haven office number (586-749-5197) and follow the instructions.


Office Hours

Appointments
To schedule an appointment, call our office nearest you. New patients should arrive 20 minutes before their scheduled time to complete paperwork. Established patients should arrive 10 minutes before their appointment. Non-urgent problems requiring an office visit should be scheduled as far in advance as possible. In Algonac, some procedures cannot be performed during evening hours or Saturdays. If you have to cancel an appointment, please call at least 24 hours in advance or as soon as possible.

Telephone Calls
All non-emergency calls should be made during office hours. In most instances it is better to schedule an appointment to discuss your medical condition with your provider. If you cannot schedule an appointment and you need immediate medical advice, our receptionist can take a message and refer your call.

Algonac Facility Hours:

Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Wednesday 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon

New Haven Facility Hours:

Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Tuesday 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and some evenings until 8:00 p.m.

Some Saturdays 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon
