Counseling Services
New Haven Adolescent Health Program provides for free or low cost counseling services to youth ages 10-21. Counseling services covered under this program include:
- mental health counseling
- prevention and counseling services for substance abuse
- court ordered counseling
- life management skills
- crisis and suicide intervention
- support groups (anger management, substance abuse, self-esteem, kids of divorce, etc)
For services in New Haven call (586) 749-5173 ext.255 for a telephone intake and to be scheduled with a therapist.
Uninsured clients ages 10 to 21 or those with deductibles or co-pays may be covered by the teen grant.
General Medical Services
For medical services in New Haven, call (586) 749-5197 to schedule an appointment. The office is open Monday through Saturday. Evening hours are available.

- Routine and school physicals
- First aid
- Immunizations
- X-rays
- Pap smears and vaginal cultures
- Sexually-transmitted disease diagnosis and treatment
- Limited lab work - pap smears, vaginal cultures, STD diagnostics, pregnancy tests
- Acne treatment
- Nutrition advice
- Chronic health care management (i.e. diabetes and asthma)
- Abstinence education
- Family planning
- Prenatal care enrollment
- Medicaid enrollment assistance
Services Specifically Not Covered
- Sport physicals, which are $20
- Cost of hospitalization
- Off site care
- Prescriptions
- Lab work (except as noted above)
